Is the tweeters in 107/2 a metal dome version of the T133?
Does the metal dome version need to change ferrofluid as with the textile dome versions?
I can see how the ferrofluid can vapor out from the textile dome, but metal dome.....
Toughs and experiences are welcome! |

Only the dome is metal. The surround is cloth AFAICR so will still allow the f/f oil to evaporate, albeit more slowly. |

And for the future ppl wondering...
The surround is of some sort of polypropelen/plastic material - no clothing.
So, after 24 years, opening up the tweeters, one had about 1/3 of the ferrofluid left, and the other had about 1/5. There was dried ferrofluid to be removed, but these where the best looking ferrofluid tweeters I have seen from KEF from that era
Cleaning them up, refilling FF, they sound more pleasant, less sharp in the mid range, and they are a bit clearer/detailed and more airier in the top. |
